2008 has been designated the International Year of the Reef by the International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI). The IYOR blog contest had the goal of being able to strengthen awareness, understanding of the importance of coral reefs, and the threats that they are facing. It is hoped that through this contest, people will come together to take action and protect coral reefs.

- 8 pupils (4 teams) took part in this competition and was awarded the Best 100 project teams.
